Human being love to wonder and that is the seed of science. Science means un-resting endeavor and continually progressing development towards an aim. Without the profound strong base of basic sciences, learning of higher technical knowledge is altogether not possible. As science is an organized knowledge, only science can hope to keep technology in some sort of order.

        Keeping these realities on frontline, Government of Maharashtra had started this premier institute in 1960. The very few laboratories which stood first in the development process was the science laboratory. Earlier the intake capacity was 180. In the year 2000 the intake increased to 240 due to the addition of a new Information Technology course. Science department accommodates Engineering Physics and Engineering Chemistry laboratories. Both the laboratories are well equipped in order to cater the needs of First year Engineering students. In a nutshell our department is the first stepping foundation for the budding engineers.
